The Orange Bicycle - Original Oil Painting

This latest oil painting is based on a photo I took in 2020 of an orange bicycle near a street corner in Capitol Hill, Seattle. I knew the minute I saw this street view that I had to paint it. Five years have gone by and I've finally done it.

I remember sitting at a light there in the rain, just staring at this scene and thinking to myself, "Isn't life strange?" My mind quickly drifted into that old song by The Moody Blues...

Isn't life strange? 
A turn of the page 
A book without light 
Unless with love we write 

Each day passes by 
How hard man will try 
The sea will not wait
You know it makes me want to cry...
