Depicted here is a scene of the lowest morning tide of the year at Ruby Beach, in Washington State. The tide rushes in and the tide slowly moves out, back and forth, and for billions of years. Our time here is like that of a scurrying crab. And long after we’re gone, this grand seascape remains. But there’s a whisper in the salty air… saying our names – as if we matter. And we do. So, we do the one important thing that we can do, the thing that really matters…
We write our names in the sand.
So, whenever you get the chance to walk upon this beach, write your name in the sand, and if you’re feeling generous enough, please, write my name too. Then, allow the ocean to sing its song as the incoming surf gently washes our names away.
Inspired by the song, “And the Tide Rushes In” by The Moody Blues
