Where No One Knows My Name

This painting was inspired by the song Boston by Augustana. A lot of my art is inspired by the music I love. After recently listening to this song I envisioned a woman leaving everything behind and heading out toward new horizons. The setting is somewhere in the middle of Montana. In my mind she inherited the 1959 Cadillac from her late father, and is boldly driving out into the unknown. Her head is full of mixed feelings, past regrets, and maybe even a few broken dreams, but on this day mostly of a freedom that is long overdue, going somewhere where no one knows her name. A fresh start. A new beginning...

Is there a deadhead sticker on the back of that Cadillac? Is she running from something? Or, perhaps she is simply going camping for the weekend. That's the wonderful thing about art - everyone makes up a different story in their head. Happy to be of service. Enjoy...
